Ireland's
Musgrave SuperValu-Centra
To Launch AquiTec's SCM/400 Supply Chain Solution
Chicago, Illinois -- June 19, 2001
-- Musgrave SuperValu-Centra (MSVC), the largest retail grocery
distributor in the Republic of Ireland, is rolling out AquiTec's
SCM/400 Suite of solutions to improve and enhance its product fulfillment
operations. MSVC operates a countrywide distribution network, servicing
more than 22% of the grocery market in the Republic of Ireland and
10% in Northern Ireland. AquiTec, formerly Worldwide Chain Store
Systems, is a leading provider of supply chain execution software.
MSVC expects to improve productivity
within its supply chain operations by installing the new version
of the AquiTec solution set at its chilled facilities in Belfast,
Cork and Dublin as well as the ambient facility in Galway. The SCM/400
solution will reduce costs and maximize revenue by eliminating manual
processes, integrating easily with front and back office systems
and managing traditional supply chain activities with greater efficiency.
In addition, the distributor anticipates generating new growth opportunities
through improved operational efficiencies in the fulfillment areas.
"The AquiTec solution continues to
gives us an industry best-of-breed application set with great business
functionality that will drive efficiencies in our supply chain activities,"
said John O'Callaghan, Information Technology Director, MSVC. "With
AquiTec's solutions, we're excited about expanding our capabilities,
attaining a higher level of customer satisfaction and growing our
business."
Among the benefits AquiTec's SCM/400
Suite delivers to customers is a technically robust supply chain
software application with additional business drivers for both brick
and mortar and click and mortar strategies. The solution allows
users to access supply chain information and easily manage cross-dock
and pick-by- line functions. The Warehouse Management System toolset
control the end-to-end visibility of product from receiving through
invoicing outbound customer orders, while also providing capabilities
to plug in labor standards at the distribution center. The Purchasing
toolset administers the supplier relationship from forecasting through
to PO and deal management.
MSVC chose AquiTec's SCM/400 Suite
because of the company's high level of technical and user support
and reputation as a leading supplier of software solutions worldwide.
"There is a strong belief among grocery
distributors today that competitive differentiation requires reliable
fulfillment strategies with strong business principles that software
tools support," said Frank Arico, Chief Executive Officer, AquiTec.
"We're pleased to offer MSVC a solution that meets these needs,
will help them expand their operations and will extend their competitive
advantage."
