Victor Mendes Appointed CEO Of CHEP

Orlando, Fla. March 12, 2002 – On February 27, 2002 Victor Mendes was named Chief Executive Officer, CHEP International, Inc. replacing Bob Moore, who will be retiring. Mendes started in his new post immediately. To effect a smooth transition, Moore will continue to work with CHEP in a consultancy capacity until June 2002.

Mendes joined Brambles in 1999 and has successfully developed its global information management division, Recall, into a leading and fast growing business. Prior to joining Brambles, Mendes worked for General Electric and held a number of senior positions in their industrial automation business. Mendes holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brasilia and a M.S. degree in Precision Machinery Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He will be relocating to Orlando with his wife and children.
